Travel information

Flying to Romania
There are direct flights available from London – Luton Airport to Bucharest – Baneasa Airport, starting from £6.99 (approx 10.40 Euro) with Wizzair Airlines. More flights can also be found with British Airways, Austrian Airlines, Tarom, Lufthansa, LOT – Polish Airlines, Alitalia and Swiss International Airlines

Going it Alone
Airport to Bus/Train Station, Bus/Train Station to Resort
From the Airport you should take a taxi either to the Gara de Nord Train Station or to the C&I Bus Station in Pantelimon District. A taxi to the train station or bus station costs approximately 20 RON (approx 5.65 Euro).
If you decide to travel by train to Poiana Brasov, the following trains are recommended:

  • Accelerated train departing from Bucharest at 19.30 – arrives in Brasov at 22.40, estimated cost for I Class – 35 RON (approx 10 Euro); II Class – 23 RON (approx 6.50 Euro)
  • Rapid train departing from Bucharest at 22.30 – arrives in Brasov at 01.03, estimated cost for I Class – 40 RON (approx 11.35 Euro) and for II Class – 30 RON (approx 8.50 Euro)

From Bucharest bus station there is a minibus departing every 45 minutes from 6:00 until 19.30. The minibus to Brasov Bus Station takes four hours, and from there we recommend that you take a taxi for the last 12 kilometres to Poiana Brasov for approximately 30 RON (approx 8.50 Euro)

Rent-a-Car

Various rent-a-car companies have offices at the airport. If you decide to rent a car, the route to Poiana Brasov is very simple, as there is just a direct road to Brasov. From Bucharest just follow DN1 E60 and it takes approximately 4 hours. From Bucharest you just have to follow the road signs to Sinaia which will take you straight to Brasov.
